Season Extension, Bioshelters and Natural Building

(Date and Time to be adjusted) This weekend class will focus on the many ways to extend the growing season in the fall and spring and even through the winter months. We will learn about cold frames, caterpillar tunnels, high tunnels, small wooden greenhouses and the pinnacle of sustainable year round growing - bioshelter design and management. This class will be taught at Garfield Community Farm where all of these methods of season extension are in use. Day Two of the class will include teaching on natural building that can be implemented in our temperate climate. To prepare for this class students may purchase The Bioshelter Market Garden by Darrell Frey, our lead teacher of this module of the permaculture design course. This weekend class can be taken alone or as part of the module based permaculture design course. Dates and times coming soon!
